Ranjeeta Koli, MP from Rajasthan of the Bharatiya Janata Party, staged a sit-in protest against illegal mining on Monday in Bharatpur. She asserted that the mining mafia had attacked her car on Sunday with the intention of killing her.

Koli stated that on her way to Bharatpur, she saw overloaded trucks while returning from Delhi on Sunday. In an attempt to stop the trucks, she was attacked and stones were pelted at her car.

The Bharatpur MP said that she and her security personnel fled into the neighbouring fields while they were being attacked. She asserted, however, that after hitting her car, the mafia fled after continuing to pursue them until the locals arrived.

In protest of the police’s actions, the MP, along with party workers, has staged a dharna and called for thorough investigations into the mining mafia.

Koli stated, “I saw about 150 trucks that were overloaded. I tried to stop them, but they fled. They thought I was in the car, and so they pelted stones and broke my car. I could have been killed. This is an attack on me, but I will not be scared. “

The police reached the spot to converse with Koli.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) RS Kaviya declared, “The MP at night told us that she was on her way from Delhi when she spotted overloaded trucks. She tried to stop them while 2-3 trucks stopped, but others escaped. She also stated that while escaping, they pelted her car with stones and attacked her.”

Alok Ranjan, District Majittate of Bharatpur also reached the spot where koili staged dharna along with the party workers.

DM Ranjan said, “She sat on dharna alleging overloaded trucks pelted stones at her. We came here, asked her to give us a complaint, and she agreed. She alleged that she did not get an immediate response from nearby chowkis, which has been brought to the notice of senior police officials. “

It is pertinent to note that MP Ranjeeta Koli stated that unknown assailants fired shots and threw stones outside her home in the Bharatpur area in November of last year.
