Sanjay Tandon, former president of the Chandigarh Pradesh BJP and co-incharge of the Himachal Pradesh BJP, extended congratulations to the people of Chandigarh on Mahashivratri and extended Women’s Day greetings to the sisters and women residents of Chandigarh.

He praised the continuous efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in promoting the overall welfare of women in the country. Tandon highlighted the Prime Minister’s initiative to reduce the price of gas cylinders by Rs 100 on Women’s Day, offering relief to women.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of Chandigarh State BJP, Sanjay Tandon credited Prime Minister Modi for announcing an extension of the gas cylinder subsidy for an additional 3 years under the Ujjwala scheme. Tandon acknowledged the Prime Minister’s historic achievements in women empowerment, such as providing 33 percent reservation to women in Lok Sabha and Assembly, granting ownership rights of 40 crore pucca houses to women, constructing 11 crore toilets, facilitating Mudra loans to 30 crore women, and introducing health benefits under Ayushman Yojana through Jan Dhan accounts.

Sanjay Tandon criticized the Congress for keeping the Mahila Shakti Vandan Act pending for 40 years and accused them of misleading women with false guarantees and promises solely for votes. In contrast, he emphasized that under BJP rule, welfare schemes reached the last person in the queue. Tandon urged the people, especially the women of Chandigarh, to trust and follow Prime Minister Modi’s commitments, stating that “if Modi is there, it is possible.” Sanjay Tandon actively participated in Mahashivratri programs in various sectors, serving langar/bhandara and taking part in a mass marriage program organized by Mahakavad Seva Dal in Sector-45, where 11 couples tied the knot. He shared the positive news of reduced gas cylinder prices with the women present at the event.
