In Gujarat, the BJP is moving fast to win more than 150 seats in the 2022 Assembly elections. Even so, seeing that BJP president C. R. Patil has given the highest number of youths in his organization’s team, the BJP can give more tickets to the youths even in the assembly.

After the appointment of C. R. Patil as the President of Gujarat BJP, Assembly by-elections and local body elections were held. In this election, tickets were allotted according to Patil’s formula. Apart from this, a special strategy was also devised for the propaganda of the leaders, including the Page President, which led to a resounding victory for the BJP. An assembly election formula is being worked out based on the analysis and report of the results of this election.

In view of this formula, discussions are underway between the BJP organization and the senior leader of the government to announce some criteria in important decisions like allotment of tickets. Patil and his team are working towards the target of getting more than 150 seats in the 2022 Assembly elections. In which a formula is being worked out to give more opportunities to the youth in the BJP, in which the MLAs elected for 3 consecutive terms in the Assembly should not be given tickets. But to give a ticket to an MLA whose performance is good is an exception. However, Patil did not specify the criteria for not giving assembly tickets to those above 60 years of age. Seeing that, there will be no age barrier for tickets in BJP.

As the activities and rumblings for tickets for the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections have started, the state president Patil had to clarify a year before the elections. But the BJP has made such a statement that on the one hand it has declared that the age limit of 60 years is not for Assembly tickets and on the other hand it is also arranging not to give tickets again to the MLAs who have been re-elected for three consecutive terms. That means most senior legislators can sit at home.

There is talk that Patil is now dominating the Gujarat BJP. It is also being denied that Patil has won the confidence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah to take his own decision in Gujarat to achieve his goal of winning more than 150 assembly seats, as Patil was currently selected for the formation of the BJP’s state team. Ratnakar has been placed instead.

When C. R. Patil became the BJP state president, Page President Committee formed which had considerable success. The first local body elections were held after Patil became president in which a rule was laid down that tickets would not be given to leaders above 60 years of age and who had contested elections for 3 terms. As a result, the tickets of many senior leaders were cut.
