The election for the Alwar Lok Sabha seat could be interesting this time, according to BJP sources. It is said that the party is considering fielding Central Minister Bhupendra Yadav from here. However, those close to him say that he may contest from Haryana. There is speculation about Congress party’s General Secretary Jitendra Singh from the Congress side.
However, the party’s concern is whether Jitendra will be willing to contest. If Jitendra enters the fray, the competition will be intense. During the assembly elections, Jitendra Singh was prepared to contest from Alwar city, but later, he did not contest. There is also uncertainty about contesting in the Lok Sabha election.
He has raised the hopes of the party by making its prominent leader Tika Ram Jully the opposition leader. Although Congress’s performance in the Alwar parliamentary area in the assembly elections remained decent with 4 out of 8 seats going to Congress, the party believes that it can win the Alwar seat.
Of the four Congress MLAs who won under the Alwar parliamentary seat, Tikaram Jully has been made the opposition leader by the party. Jitendra Singh, the party’s Secretary-General and a close associate of the Gandhi family hails from Alwar. The second victorious MLA, Juber Khan, is the National Secretary of the party.
Along with them, the coordinator placed on the Alwar Lok Sabha seat, Dharmendra Rathore, holds a significant position in the politics of the Rajasthan Congress. Compared to the BJP, Congress seems stronger on paper. According to caste calculations, Congress believes that they will receive a significant vote from Jats, Yadavs, Muslims, Dalits, and OBCs.
This time, the BJP is planning to field ministers whose terms are ending in the state assembly elections in the Lok Sabha elections. One of the ministers is Bhupendra Yadav. Along with him, several ministers like Dharmendra Pradhan, Ashwini Vaishnav, and Hardeep Puri are there. It is not yet certain who will contest from where.
In this situation, Bhupendra Yadav has a higher probability of contesting for the Alwar seat. The current atmosphere favours the BJP on this seat. However, Congress believes that the seat can be won. If Jitendra Singh does not agree, then Congress can place its bet on its winning MLA from Mundawar, Lalit Kumar Yadav.
Although aspirants like former MP Karan Singh Yadav, Ajit Yadav, Yogesh Mishra, Sandeep Yadav, and Baljeet Yadav have also expressed their aspirations.
Yadav, despite the Bahujan Samaj Party winning this seat twice, has been coming to the BJP for the last two terms. Due to the wave of Prime Minister Modi, Congress had to face defeat here twice. However, observing the performance in the assembly elections, Congress is serious this time.
