BJP Condemns AAP Over Assault Allegations Against Delhi CM’s Aide: Calls For Kejriwal's Accountability

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) following Assault Allegations made by AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal against the CM’s aide.

Bansuri Swaraj, a BJP leader, condemned the incident, stating that if the Assault Allegations are true and Kejriwal’s Officer on Special Duty (OSD) indeed assaulted and misbehaved with Swati Maliwal in the presence of the Delhi CM, it reflects poorly on Kejriwal’s leadership. Swaraj, who is also the BJP Lok Sabha candidate from New Delhi constituency, emphasized that such behavior is shameful, questioning Kejriwal’s ability to ensure the safety of women in Delhi.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur weighed in on the matter, highlighting concerns about the internal affairs of the AAP and the safety of women within the party. Thakur suggested that tensions within the AAP might escalate further, especially with the involvement of more members from the party’s leadership.

Meanwhile, Swati Maliwal visited the Civil Lines police station on Monday to report the alleged misconduct by a member of Kejriwal’s personal staff. Despite making PCR calls and raising the issue, no formal complaint has been filed yet.

Former Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely also criticized the AAP, questioning their ability to ensure national security when they cannot guarantee the safety of their own officials in government accommodations.

The incident has sparked concerns about the internal dynamics of the AAP and the safety of women under its leadership, prompting calls for accountability and action within the party.
