He was born on October 22, 1964, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to a middle-class Gujarati family. He completed his schooling from Mehsana and pursued his higher education in biochemistry at CU Shah Science College in Ahmedabad.

Amit Shah won from Gandhinagar constituency by a margin of 744716 votes in Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
