Mina Kumari has emerged as one of the young and dynamic faces of Bihar’s Janata Dal (United). She represents the Babubarhi Assembly constituency in Madhubani and has made her presence felt through her commitment to regional development and women’s representation in politics.
Born and brought up in Babubarhi, Madhubani, Mina Kumari is an Indian politician who has risen swiftly within the JD(U) ranks. Her political sojourn started with a strong emphasis on local welfare and community upliftment.
She was born on April 5, 1989, which makes Mina Kumari 36 years old as of 2025. Despite her relatively young age, she has shown maturity and leadership in managing the affairs of her constituency.
Mina Kumari is a proud member of the Janata Dal-United, the ruling party in Bihar led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar representing the next generation leadership of the party.
She obtained her postgraduate degree in Hindi from Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga, in 2019. Her academic background has strengthened communication and outreach with rural voters.

She represents the Babubarhi Assembly constituency, which falls under Madhubani district. She won the 2020 election with 77,367 votes, defeating Uma Kant Yadav of RJD by over 11,000 votes.
Presently, Mina Kumari is an MLA of JD(U) and takes part in legislative debates on various points pertaining to rural education, women's rights, and infrastructure.
In 2025, during a Pragati Yatra event in Sukki village, she had to face the villagers criticism for using foul language. A viral video of this incident sparked debate on political accountability.
According to her affidavit, no criminal cases are registered against her.
Her declared annual income has risen steadily over the years — Rs. 4.9 lakh in 2021–22, Rs. 4.99 lakh in 2020–21 and Rs. 5.69 lakh in 2024–25.
