In 2010, the seat was won by Shrawon Kumar (JD(U)) who secured 58,067 votes.
In 2015, Shrawon Kumar (JD(U)) retained the seat with roughly 72,596 votes, defeating his closest rival by about 2,996 votes.
In the 2020 election, Shrawon Kumar again emerged victorious (JD(U)) with 66,066 votes, beating Kaushlendra Kumar (JVP) who got 49,989 votes — a margin of approximately 16,077 votes.
Reports indicate the Nalanda seat saw over 60.84% voter turnout in Phase 1 of the polls, signalling an engaged electorate.
The margin in 2020 was about 16,077 votes, reflecting a strong but not unassailable lead for the incumbent.
