Kusheshwar Asthan Constituency Election 2025: The Kusheshwar Asthan Assembly constituency (numbered 78) is a seat reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), located in the Darbhanga district of Bihar. It is one of the six assembly segments that fall under the broader Samastipur Lok Sabha constituency, which is also reserved for the Scheduled Castes. Since its establishment in 2008, the seat has been consistently held by the Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] or its alliance partners, with the Hazari family dominating the contests. The current MLA represents JD(U).

The polling in Kusheshwar Asthan Assembly constituency, according to the 2020 schedule, is expected to be held in the first phase of the Assembly Elections in Bihar. Kusheshwar Asthan, Bihar Election Result 2021 (By-Election)

The last poll here was an important by-election in 2021 after the death of the sitting JD(U) MLA, Shashi Bhushan Hazari. The seat was retained by his son, Aman Bhushan Hajari of the Janata Dal (United). He secured 59,887 votes with a vote share of 45.72%. Hajari defeated the runner-up, Ganesh Bharti of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), by a margin of 12,695 votes. The overall turnout at this by-election was recorded at about 50.92%.
