Kargahar Election Result 2025: With the results now declared, Bashisth Singh of the JDU has secured a decisive victory in Kargahar, winning 9,15,43 votes and leading by an impressive margin of 35,365 votes.
Kargahar falls under Constituency No. 209 of in Rohtas district of Bihar and Renowned for the shifting of loyalty and close contests, Kargahar had Santosh Kumar Mishra of INC winning the 2020 elections. Now that the 2025 elections are over, the result will be a key indicator of the prevailing political temper in the region.
Kargahar was carved out from the erstwhile, greater Sasaram constituency and after the delimitation that took place in 2008, it held its first election in 2010.

In the 2010 elections, Ram Dhani Singh of JD(U) won the seat by getting 54,190 votes. Shiv Shankar Singh of LJP came second with 40,993 votes and the margin of victory was 13,197 votes.
The 2015 elections once again reiterated JD(U)’s favour. Bashisht Singh (JD(U)) won defeating Birendra Kumar Singh (RLSP) by a margin of 12,907 votes. JD(U) candidate got 57,018 votes and the RLSP candidate secured 44,111 votes.
In 2020, the seat saw an upset. Santosh Kumar Mishra (INC) defeated Uday Pratap Singh (JD(U)) by a very close margin of 4,083 votes. Mishra received 47,321 votes - this marked the Congress party’s first win here since the constituency’s creation.
In the 2020 Assembly election, the voter turnout in Kargahar was 59.85%, representing a moderate turnout. Though it is a rural seat, the trend of voter turnout has remained stable during recent elections.
