Kahalgaon Election Result 2025: With the results now declared, Shubhanand Mukesh of the JDU has secured a decisive victory in Kahalgaon, winning 1,30,767 votes and leading by an impressive margin of 50112 votes.
Kahalgaon falls under Constituency No. 155 of in Bhagalpur district of Bihar and renowned for the shifting of loyalty and close contests, Kahalgaon had Pawan Kumar Yadav of BJP winning the 2020 elections. Now that the 2025 elections are over, the result will be a key indicator of the prevailing political temper in the region.

In 2020, BJP's Pawan Kumar Yadav won the seat, defeating Congress. He garnered 1,15,538 votes, while Shubhanand Mukesh (INC) secured 72,645 votes, giving BJP a huge lead of 42,893 votes.
Increasing over the years, Kahalgaon's voter turnout has reached from 57.48% in 2015 to 62.02% in 2020. It is expected that the percentage in 2025 will be more than 65%, including increasing female participation.

Kahalgaon is one of six Assembly segments under the Bhagalpur Lok Sabha constituency no 155. It comprises Goradih and Sonhoula blocks, along with several gram panchayats and the Kahalgaon Nagar Panchayat.
In the 2020 elections, there were 3,31,391 registered voters, and by the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, this number had increased to 3,51,490. The voter base comprises 11.71% Scheduled Castes, 1.12% Scheduled Tribes and 18.1% Muslim voter.
