Hisua is a subdivisional town in Bihar’s Nawada district, located in the Magadh region. It is one of the six Assembly segments under the Nawada Lok Sabha seat and has been a separate constituency since 1957. Over the past 63 years, voters here have shown remarkable loyalty to their leaders, electing only six individuals to represent them in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. The Congress party dominated initially, winning five consecutive times – Raj Kumari Devi secured victories in 1957 and 1962, followed by Shatrughan Sharan Singh in 1967, 1969, and 1972, a period marked by significant political churn in Bihar.
