Gurua Bihar Election 2025
Situated in the Tekari subdivision of Bihar’s Gaya district, Gurua is one of 24 administrative blocks in the region. Once linked to the Magadh Empire, it shares proximity with historic sites like Gaya and Bodh Gaya. Despite its ancient ties, much about its history is unclear. Even its name’s origin is uncertain, with some suggesting it may have been associated with a spiritual teacher or a monastic learning center. The suffix ‘a’ in names is typical in Bihar’s dialect, which could explain how an unknown ‘Guru’ became ‘Gurua’.
Gurua has its election day on Tuesday, 11 November 2025.
Counting of votes will take place on November 14, 2025, followed by the declaration of results on the same day.
In the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Vinay Kumar won from the Gurua constituency. He defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Rajiv Nandan by a margin of 6,599 votes.
The total voter turnout in the Gurua assembly constituency was approximately 62.54%.
