The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections have already geared up as voters are up to decide on key issues such as infrastructure growth, job creation, school standards, healthcare access, and safe public order. With 243 seats up for grabs, every constituency matters — and political parties have already announced their candidate lists in earnest. A party or alliance must secure at least 122 seats to stake a claim to power in the state.

Goh is a block under the Daudnagar subdivision of Bihar’s Aurangabad district. The area has ancient roots, having been part of the Maurya and Gupta empires before coming under Sher Shah Suri’s influence. During the 1857 uprising, Goh’s populace remained passive as local zamindars supported the East India Company.

 Goh has its election day on Tuesday, 11 November 2025.

Result Date of Bihar Polls 

Counting of votes will take place on November 14, 2025, followed by the declaration of results on the same day. 

Goh Bihar Election Result 2020?

In the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Bhim Kumar Singh won from Goh constituency. He defeated Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Manoj Kumar by 35,618 votes.

The 2024 Lok Sabha polls saw complications for the NDA in Karakat constituency, where RLM founder Upendra Kushwaha finished third despite NDA backing. Rebel BJP candidate Pawan Singh split the vote, helping CPI(ML)(L) candidate Raja Ram Singh Kushwaha secure victory. The BJP now faces the challenge of maintaining NDA unity to reclaim Goh from the RJD.

What is the Population of Goh?

The population of Goh block in Aurangabad district, according to the 2011 Census of India, was 234,400 people. According to the 2011 Census, Goh block spanned 305 square kilometres with a population of 234,400. The population density was 768 people per sq km, with a sex ratio of 922 females per 1,000 males. The block had 34,717 households across 158 villages, 113 of which had fewer than 2,000 residents. The literacy rate stood at 53.66 per cent, with significant gender disparity (63.20 per cent males, 43.32 per cent females).

The Goh assembly constituency comprises Goh and Haspura CD blocks plus parts of Rafiganj CD block, giving it a larger population than just Goh block or village.

How many Registered Voters are in Goh?

Though a general seat, Scheduled Castes form 20.72 per cent of Goh’s electorate while Muslims account for 8.4 per cent. The constituency is predominantly rural. In the 2020 Assembly polls, Goh had 308,689 registered voters with 59.92 per cent turnout. This increased to 317,251 voters in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The number of registered voters in the Goh Assembly constituency is 311,604 for the 2025 Assembly elections.

For comparison, Goh had 317,251 registered voters during the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and 308,689 in the 2020 Assembly elections.

Goh was Established in?

The Goh Assembly constituency was established in 1951, with its first election held in 1952.

It is is one of six segments under the Karakat Lok Sabha seat. In 16 elections held here since inception, Congress, CPI, and JD(U) (including its earlier Samata Party avatar) have each won four times. The Socialist Party, Samyukt Socialist Party, BJP, and RJD have secured one victory each.

The area itself has ancient historical significance as part of the Magadh region, having been continuously inhabited and ruled by various empires including the Mauryans and Guptas. The administrative block of Goh falls within Aurangabad district, which was carved out from Gaya District in 1973.
