The 2024 Lok Sabha polls saw complications for the NDA in Karakat constituency, where RLM founder Upendra Kushwaha finished third despite NDA backing. The population of Goh block in Aurangabad district, according to the 2011 Census of India, was 234,400 people. The block had 34,717 households across 158 villages, 113 of which had fewer than 2,000 residents. The area itself has ancient historical significance as part of the Magadh region, having been continuously inhabited and ruled by various empires including the Mauryans and Guptas. The administrative block of Goh falls within Aurangabad district, which was carved out from Gaya District in 1973.
