Gobindpur Bihar Election 2025
Govindpur is a village and block headquarters in the Nawada district of Bihar. Located on the Sakri River, it is prone to flooding during the rainy season. The seasonal floods disconnect it from its main market Delhua, situated on the other side of the river. This creates significant hardship for residents who cannot cross the river. The flooding also completely disconnects the post office and police station from Gobindpur. This isolation enables Naxalites to become active in the region since the police cannot reach the village during these periods.
Gobindpur has its election day on Tuesday, 11 November 2025.
Counting of votes will take place on November 14, 2025, followed by the declaration of results on the same day.
In the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Md Kamran won from the Gobindpur constituency. He defeated Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) candidate Purnima Yadav by a margin of 33,074 votes. The Gobindpur constituency is located in the Nawada district of Bihar, and polling for this seat was held in Phase 1 of the Bihar Assembly elections on October 28, 2020. The counting of votes took place on November 10, 2020.
