The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections have already geared up as voters are up to decide on key issues such as infrastructure growth, job creation, school standards, healthcare access, and safe public order. With 243 seats up for grabs, every constituency matters — and political parties have already announced their candidate lists in earnest. A party or alliance must secure at least 122 seats to stake a claim to power in the state.
Chakai, a block-level town in Bihar’s Jamui district, lies near the Jharkhand border. The Jharkhand towns of Deoghar, Giridih, and Madhupur are nearer to Chakai than most towns in Bihar.
Chakai has its election day on Tuesday, 11 November 2025.
Counting of votes will take place on November 14, 2025, followed by the declaration of results on the same day.
In the 2020 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, Sumit Kumar Singh, an Independent candidate, won from the Chakai constituency. He is currently serving as the Science and Technology Minister in the Bihar government. He defeated the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate, Savitri Devi, by a very narrow margin of 581 votes. The Chakai constituency is located in the Jamui district of Bihar. Polling for this seat was held in Phase 1 of the Bihar Assembly elections on October 28, 2020, and the counting of votes took place on November 10, 2020.

• Assembly Constituency: The Chakai Vidhan Sabha constituency was formed in 1962.
