Bhagalpur Election Result 2025: With the results now declared, Rohit Pandey of the BJP has secured a decisive victory in Bhagalpur, winning 1,00,316 votes and leading by an impressive margin of 13,832 votes.

In 2010, Ashwini Kumar Choubey (BJP) won the Bhagalpur seat defeating Ajeet Sharma (INC) by a margin of 11,060 votes. Ashwini Kumar Choubey polled 49,164 votes where Ajeet Sharma secured 38,104 votes.
INC's Ajeet Sharma regained the seat in 2015 by securing 70,514 votes. He defeated BJP's Arjit Shashwat Choubey who got 59,856 votes and the victory margin was 10,658 votes.
The contest here in 2020 was one of the closest in Bihar. Ajeet Sharma of INC won the seat for the second consecutive time by getting 65,502 votes, defeating BJP's Rohit Pandey who got 64,389 votes. The victory margin was just 1,113 votes, among the slenderest in the state.
Bhagalpur has consistently recorded one of the lowest polling percentages in Bihar. In 2020, the turnout was 48.43%, quite a marginal increase over its performance in the previous elections. As an urban constituency with high literacy rates, voter apathy is a worry in this seat.

The Bhagalpur Assembly constituency no 243 is one of the six segments under the Bhagalpur Lok Sabha seat, sharing borders with Nathnagar, Gopalpur, Kahalgaon, Pirpainti and Sultanganj.
In the 2020 Assembly election, Bhagalpur had 3,33,795 registered voters which increased marginally to 3,35,076 in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The seat is entirely urban with Hindus making up about 70 percent and Muslims 29 percent of the electorate and Scheduled Castes constitute 8.17 percent of the voters.
