The contest here in 2020 was one of the closest in Bihar. Ajeet Sharma of INC won the seat for the second consecutive time by getting 65,502 votes, defeating BJP's Rohit Pandey who got 64,389 votes. The victory margin was just 1,113 votes, among the slenderest in the state.
