Alinagar Assembly constituency is a general category seat, number 81, in the Darbhanga district of Bihar. It is one of the six assembly segments that make up the Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency. The seat has traditionally seen a bipolar contest between the RJD and the NDA, making it a closely watched political battleground. The incumbent MLA cruised to victory in the 2020 election on the VIP (Vikassheel Insaan Party) ticket. As of today, the VIP was an ally of the NDA.
