In the inaugural edition of USA’s first T-20 league named ‘Major League Cricket’, big names from world cricket have been added to player’s bucket lists, including Australia’s former opener Aaron Finch, who will be seen as the skipper of the San Francisco Unicorns, and South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, who will play for the Seattle Orcas.
The inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket is going to start from 13-30 July in Dallas, but the player’s draft was held on March 20 with six franchises.
The Indian Premier League’s franchises, including Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Kolkata Knight Riders, have already made their presence in MLC and have fully or partially owned four of the teams in the league.
Many renowned players in the international cricket including, Quinton de kock, Aaron Finch, Marcus Stoinis and Wanindu Hasaranga among others were picked by different franchises.
After got signed by San Francisco Unicorns, former Aussie captain Aaron Finch tweeted, “So excited to be a part of @MLCricket @SFOUnicorns.” Along with him, his teammate Marcus Stoinis and England’s fast bowler Liam Plunkett, who was part of England’s 2019 World Cup winning squad, will join the Unicorns. Along with them, New Zealand’s all-rounder Corey Anderson also got signed by the Unicorns in Round 1.
South Africa’s wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de kock and Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who dominated in the second ODI against India, will line up for the Orcas.
Whether, Sri Lankan spin bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga and South African pacer Anrich Nortje were announced in the player’s draft of DC Freedom.
