Nitin Raut, Congress leader and former Maharastra Energy Minister, was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad as she received injuries.
On the 55th day of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Raut fell after being allegedly shoved by the police, sustaining injuries to his right eye, hand, and leg.
“I was in Bharat Joda Yatra and had already crossed Charminar. I was moving towards the stage when Rahul Gandhi’s convoy came, seeing which the police panicked and started pushing people here and there. The ACP pushed me strongly by placing both hands over my chest. I fell near a barricade at the road and sustained injuries. I started bleeding and was then finally taken to the hospital,” Congress leader Nitin Raut said on Wednesday.
At Bowenpally in Hyderabad earlier in the day, Mallikarjun Kharge, a senior Congress figure and the party’s president, engaged with Bharat Jodo Yatra marchers.
In his conversation, Kharge mentioned that the marchers were travelling 3,500 miles with Rahul Gandhi. They are a fantastic source of inspiration for our party cadres and add good energy to our Bharat Jodo Yatra.
In addition, Kharge asserted that the Bharat Jodo Yatra is bringing about a quiet revolution that will alter the political environment.
