Dalit and Adivasi organizations have announced a ‘Bharat Bandh,’ a peaceful strike aimed at highlighting the need for greater representation of marginalized communities in employment and education, and for the protection of their constitutional rights. This bandh is taking place in response to the recent Supreme Court ruling on the sub-categorization of quotas for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs), as well as the debate over lateral entry into central civil services.

The National Confederation of Dalit and Adivasi Organisations (NACDAOR) has organized the bandh and released a list of demands, calling on the government to ensure social justice and fair representation for these communities. NACDAOR is urging all OBC and SC/ST groups to participate in the bandh peacefully and in large numbers.
