In West Bengal, all eyes are on the Bhabanipur by-election, which will decide Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee’s fate as the chief minister. Nevertheless, In a press conference after the Bhabanipur polls, BJP state vice-president Samik Bhattacharya claimed that the people of Bhabanipur were not worried about the post of Chief Minister. At the same time, he added that the BJP was confident of a comprehensive victory.
Bhattacharya said, “The journey of Bhabanipur Special started with an unprecedented announcement. But no one has seen a passenger in it yet.”
The BJP also claimed that there was no enthusiasm among the people to come out and vote.
“So the people of Bhabanipur have made it clear that they are not worried about the post of the Chief Minister. And the participation of fewer people suggests that they are not very interested in the matter.” Bhattacharya said.
Meanwhile, the BJP has also joined hands with the Trinamool Congress to catch fake voters in Khalsa High School and other centers. Besides, questions have also been raised about the role of the Election Commission.
Shamik said, “Somewhere fake voters were caught, somewhere they fled. Three ministers roamed the area. The role of the Election Commission is also in question. Does it fall under any electoral rules? ”
This is not the end. The BJP has lengthened the list of allegations, claiming that Raghbir Singh, one of the proponents of Priyanka Tibrewal, handed over fake voters. He was arrested by the police for that crime.
“Where the Chief Minister herself is the candidate, fake voters come and vote, imagine what will happen in the rest of the centers! It’s a severe issue. However, the BJP has been completely confident about winning this day. We fought to win,” Bhattacharya said.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was watching the Bhabanipur by-election from her home on Thursday. She gave charge of senior leaders of the party in eight wards under Bhabanipur assembly. According to sources, she has received enough positive messages.
Meanwhile, the agriculture Minister Shobhandev remarked, “Mamata Banerjee has become the Chief Minister of the state after winning from Bhabanipur. That trend will continue in this by-election as well. And with the win, she will surpass her own record.”
