In a shocking incident that has stunned the nation, a techie from Uttar Pradesh, Atul Subhash, who was 34 years old, committed suicide in his residence in Bengaluru on Monday. The reasons for his death have raised widespread anger since he had left behind an extensive suicide note and a terrifying last video in which he alleged harassment, false accusations, and judicial injustice by his wife and her family.

The Last Video and Wishes

Before ending his life, Atul had recorded a four-minute video in which he was explaining all the emotional and mental torture he was undergoing. He appealed for justice to both himself and his family members in his video. In it, he mentioned that his final wishes were such that he should not be scattered till the alleged harassers are taken into law. If this did not happen, he wished that his ashes be put in the gutter outside the courthouse as a symbolic protest.

In the video, Atul also made an emotional appeal about his minor child, stating that since his wife confessed that she was not able to raise him, then his parents and brother should be able to care for the child. Atul specifically requested that his wife and her relatives should not be allowed to touch his body after he dies, and that his family should only meet them in public places under surveillance if need be.

Accusations of Harassment and Legal Battles

Atul’s death note, which he sent through email and to an NGO group on WhatsApp, revealed that he had been facing marital issues for some time. His wife had reportedly filed a domestic violence case against him in Uttar Pradesh, adding to his mounting distress. Atul accused his wife, her family, and even a judge named Madhav of framing him with false allegations. He condemned the judicial system, stating that he wouldfile complaints against some of the judges who had dealt with him unfairly.

He also described his utter disappointment with the judiciary, saying that his life had been destroyed by the same institutions that were supposed to protect him.

The Incident and Police Investigation

Atul Subhash’s tragic death occurred at his home in Manjunath Layout, located within the Marathahalli police station limits. Before taking the drastic step, Atul left behind a placard that read “Justice is due,” highlighting his despair over the lack of justice in his case.

According to the reports from Bengaluru police, Atul was facing extreme stress because of the ongoing legal and family problems. His last acts appeared to be a sense of resignation and a desperate call for justice.

The police are now taking up the case, with a senior officer stating that a formal complaint will be lodged once Atuls family is brought into the process. The authorities are now very cautiously going through the allegations made in the suicide note and video, as well as all other related evidence, to determine the full circumstances of his death.

Public Outcry and Social Media Attention

The final message from Atul has gone viral on social media, with netizens outrage and sparking discussions about the plight of individuals within the judicial and legal systems. #JusticeForAtulSubhash is trending, with many being angry over the apparent failure of the legal system to redress his complaints and the harassment he faced from his family.

This has brought attention to those often-neglected mental health difficulties and injustices the people involved in very complicated family and legal disputes often face.

In many ways, the case brings up other pressing questions about the ability to intervene before the final tragic outcome. Atul’s death has reminded one of the vicious cycle of legal battles, harassment, and the toll of emotional trauma that can be the outcome of a legal battle and the need for reform within both legal and social systems.
