An important breakthrough has emerged in the investigation of the explosion at Rameshwaram Cafe in Kundalahalli, Bengaluru, which occurred on Friday. The suspect strategically placed the bomb timer at a nearby bus stop, a CCTV footage reveals. With this critical evidence in hand, the police have escalated their efforts to solve the case. There’s a possibility that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will take over the investigation soon.

The suspect, captured on CCTV, disembarked at the bus stop adjacent to Rameswaram Cafe at 10:40 am on March 1. Carrying a bag, he discreetly set the timer for the bomb around 10:43 am. Furthermore, the suspect altered his route on the day of the blast, evading surveillance cameras. While CCTV footage near the cafe provides valuable clues, his subsequent movements remain unknown, indicating premeditation behind the attack.
Forensic analysis at the blast site uncovered a battery, timer, and traces of potassium nitrate and hydrogen peroxide, confirming the bomb’s composition. Authorities suspect the fugitive may have fled to Tamil Nadu after executing the attack, remaining at large. In light of this, efforts to apprehend the suspect intensify, with the police considering releasing a sketch to aid in identification.

Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed willingness to transfer the case to the NIA if required, highlighting the seriousness with which the state government views the incident. As the investigation unfolds, the public remains on edge, hoping for swift justice and the apprehension of those responsible for the cowardly act. The blast occurred at 1 pm. It happened at Rameshwaram Cafe.
A young man of about 28-30 years came to the cafe, purchased Rava Idli at the counter, placed the bag near a tree (adjacent to the cafe) and left. After one hour the blast occurred.
