Bengaluru’s auto drivers are now winning hearts online with their innovative ideas. The latest of them is a “library on wheels,” where they provide free books to passengers during the notorious traffic jams in the city. A ride for book lovers would be absolutely peaceful. This initiative recently came to the fore in LinkedIn when Ravilla Lokesh shared a photo of the “mini-library” under the caption “Bengaluru Style.
This photo, taken from the backseat, captures a committed section in the auto full of books and a note that says, “Free for all, take if you wish.” The titles include some spiritual and philosophical ones. Lokesh‘s post read, “Only in Bengaluru can you get life advice and philosophical wisdom handed out for free… in an autorickshaw! While stuck in traffic, my friend stumbled upon this mini-library on wheels.”
He added, “From ‘Why Divorce?’ to ‘God Loves You,’ this auto driver is doubling as a life coach, counsellor, and spiritual guide, all while navigating Bengaluru’s chaotic roads. So, what’s the most innovative or inspiring thing you’ve encountered in your daily life?”

The post garnered significant attention, with one user commenting, “Bangalore’s vibes are wild. Is an auto driver giving life lessons? Classic. I’d say that’s pure Bengaluru spirit right there.”
Bengaluru has seen similar creative moments recently. Another auto driver, Samuel Christy, went viral for his entrepreneurial spirit. His auto features a poster asking passengers to share startup ideas to help him fund his dream business. The note reads, “Hi passenger, my name is Samuel Christy. I’m a graduate who is looking to raise funds for my startup business idea. If you’re interested, please talk to me.”
Such stories best exemplify the inventive yet plucky attitude of Bengaluru.
