The BCCI has not officially announced the Indian team for the upcoming tour, but it is expected that senior players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be rested for the ODI matches.
There is speculation that Hardik Pandya might lead the T20I side, while KL Rahul could take on the captaincy for the ODIs. Gautam Gambhir, who recently succeeded Rahul Dravid as head coach following India’s T20 World Cup victory, will oversee the tour.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will introduce Sanath Jayasuriya as their new coach, replacing Chris Silverwood. Following Wanindu Hasaranga’s resignation, Sri Lanka is also yet to name their new captain for the bilateral series against India scheduled to be played at home.
