The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for the next three IPL seasons. The 2025 season will commence on March 14 (Friday) and conclude on May 25 (Sunday). The 2026 season will run from March 15 to May 31, while the 2027 edition is set between March 14 and May 30. The BCCI shared these dates with franchises via email, ensuring clarity for planning ahead.
The 2025 season will feature 74 matches, consistent with the previous three editions. However, this total falls short of the 84 matches initially outlined in the 2022 media rights agreement for the 2023-27 cycle. This reduction could reshape the tournament structure and influence audience engagement.
England fast bowler Jofra Archer has committed to full participation across the upcoming three IPL seasons. As per a Cricbuzz report, he has registered himself in the INR 2 crore bracket for the IPL 2025 mega auction. Joining him in the player pool are Saurabh Netravalkar and Hardik Tamore, adding to the excitement surrounding the auction.
The IPL 2025 Player Auction will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25, 2024. This will mark the second time the auction is held outside India, following the Dubai-hosted event last year. The international setting underscores the league’s global appeal.
