On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, commemorating the birth anniversary of Deenbandhu Rahbare Azam, Sir Chhotu Ram, JJP leader OP Sihag, along with other JJP leaders, gathered at Sector 6 Jat Bhawan in Panchkula to pay homage to the revered leader. The leaders paid floral tributes to the statue of Sir Chhotu Ram and extended warm wishes on the occasion of Basant Panchami.
OP Sihag, expressing his reverence, highlighted the lifetime contributions of Deenbandhu Choudhary Chhotu Ram towards the welfare of the poor, laborers, and farmers. Noteworthy among his accomplishments was the legislation during the British rule to liberate laborers from the oppressive practice of bonded labor. He also championed laws to free farmers from the clutches of moneylenders, securing ownership rights for their land. Sihag emphasized that Sir Chhotu Ram’s legacy as the savior of farmers, the poor, and laborers is indelible.
District JJP Intellectual Cell Convener KC Bhardwaj and JJP District Panchkula General Secretary Ishwar Singhmar, present at the event, expressed the enduring admiration held by farmers and those from humble backgrounds for Sir Chhotu Ram. They underscored the pivotal role played by Sir Chhotu Ram in ensuring that farmers and laborers benefited from legislation that protected their interests.
In addition to OP Sihag, others present at the occasion, including Panchkula Municipal Corporation Councilor Rajesh Nishad, JJP District Panchkula Sports Cell Coordinator Surinder Chadda, former Pijore Jat Sabha President Rajbir Singh, and JJP leaders Rajendra Mehra, Azad Diler, and Heera Man Verma, offered floral tributes to the statue of Sir Chhotu Ram as a token of their respect and gratitude.
