As the Lok Sabha elections loom on the horizon, political parties outside the BJP and Congress fold are gearing up for the upcoming electoral battle. While the BJP recently convened a meeting in Khimsar to discuss morchas and cluster in-charges, the Congress conducted a review meeting in Jaipur on Wednesday, led by Rajasthan Pradesh Congress in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa.
Notably, the Bharatiya Adiwasi Party (BAP), which secured three seats in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections, has declared its decision to refrain from forming an alliance with Congress. Despite winning three seats and emerging as the third-largest party in the state during the assembly elections, BAP is steadfast in its resolve to independently contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Chorasi MLA Rajkumar Roat dismissed ongoing discussions regarding a potential alliance with Congress or the India alliance. Roat highlighted the lack of coordination among leaders within the I.N.D.I.A alliance and emphasized that BAP has no intention of forming an alliance with Congress or any other party.
Roat stated unequivocally that BAP will contest independently in the Lok Sabha elections, focusing on constituencies like Dungarpur-Banswara and Udaipur to secure victory. He noted that if an alliance with Congress were to happen, it would have transpired during the assembly elections, but no such proposal has been received or entertained by BAP.
Having won three seats in the assembly elections, including Chorasi in Dungarpur district, Aaspur, and Dariyawad in Pratapgarh district, BAP, after parting ways with BTP, is poised to pose challenges for both the BJP and Congress in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
