During the Question Hour, Rajkumar Raut, the MLA of the Bharatiya Adivasi Party representing the Chaurasi Assembly seat, brought attention to irregularities in the construction of the Panchayat Samiti Chikhali building in the Dungarpur district. He highlighted that despite being approved in 2017 with a stipulated completion time of 15 months, the construction remains unfinished even after seven years.
Responding to the concern, Minister Madan Dilawar addressed the issue with utmost seriousness, stating that the repeated transfer of 26 Village Development Officers (VDOs) in this Panchayat Samiti, under the previous government, is a matter that warrants action.
The minister asserted that appropriate measures will be taken against the officer responsible for the excessive transfers of VDOs. Moreover, he informed the House that notices of 16 Contempt of Court (CC) have been issued to the implicated officers.
Minister Dilawar proposed the suspension of the Junior Engineer (JEN) in conjunction with the officer who frequently transferred VDOs. He further raised questions about the functioning of the then-minister, expressing concerns over the overall administrative handling of the Panchayat Samiti Chikhali construction project.
The matter, discussed during the Question Hour, underscores the significance of timely and efficient execution of public projects, bringing accountability to the forefront of administrative actions.
