The Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina received a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday.
Along with PM Narendra Modi, she met ministers and delegates from both nations at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Besides PM Modi, external Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Union Minister JP Nadda, Minsters of State Jitendra Singh and Kirti Vardhan Singh were also there to welcome Bangladesh PM.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has come to India for a two-day State visit upon the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, this visit is expected to provide ‘major boost’ to Indo-Bangladesh relationship.
Taking to X, he said,
‘PM Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh arrives in New Delhi on a State Visit to India. Warmly welcomed by MoS @KVSinghMPGonda at the airport. Bangladesh is a key partner and trusted neighbour of India. The visit will give a major boost to this celebrated bilateral partnership.’
Earlier external minister S Jaishankar said, that Hasina’s visit reflects ‘close and abiding ties’, which exists between two nations.
‘Delighted to call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh this evening. Her State visit to India underlines our close and abiding ties. Appreciate her guidance on the further development of our special partnership.’ said Jaishankar on X.
As per MEA statement, this is the first bilateral State visit, since the formation of the new government following the 18th Lok Sabha elections in India.
Furthermore, Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina is expected to conduct bilateral consultations with PM Modi, followed by scheduled call with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was one of the global leaders, who was present at the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister and the Union Council of Ministers on June 9.
She also attended the inaugural Session of the Voice of the Global South Summit on January 11, 2023 and the second Virtual Voice of the Global South Summit on November 17, 2023 virtually.
