Baba Siddiqui Murder Case: Prime Accused Shiva Kumar, Four Others Sent To Police Custody Till Nov 19

Mumbai’s Killa Court on Monday remanded Shiva Kumar, the primary accused and shooter in the Baba Siddiqui murder case, along with four other suspects, to police custody until November 19. The accused were apprehended on Sunday by a joint team from the UP Special Task Force (STF) and the Mumbai Crime Branch in the Nanpara area of Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh.

NCP leader Baba Siddique was fatally shot by three assailants near the office of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique, in Mumbai’s Nirmal Nagar on October 12. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, led by the jailed gangster, has since claimed responsibility for the killing.

Following Siddiqui’s murder, the Mumbai Crime Branch revealed that another prominent Pune leader was also targeted by the Bishnoi gang. According to a senior Crime Branch official, the gang had planned to eliminate the Pune leader, assigning the task to shooters involved in a “Plan B.” This plot came to light after investigators recovered a pistol intended for the crime.

The identity of the Pune leader has not been disclosed. After uncovering the plan, the Crime Branch shared its findings with Pune Police. Authorities are currently investigating whether the accused had conducted reconnaissance in relation to this plot.
