Several Bollywood celebrities, including Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty, visited Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai late Saturday night to offer their condolences to the family of former state minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was fatally shot by unidentified assailants. Actor Zaheer Iqbal also arrived at the hospital to console the grieving family.

The actors expressed their sympathy and support during this difficult time. Riteish Deshmukh, deeply saddened by the incident, called for swift justice, stating, “The perpetrators of this horrific crime must be brought to justice.” He also posted on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Extremely saddened and shocked beyond words to learn about the tragic demise of Shri #BabaSiddique ji – My heart goes out to @zeeshan_iyc and the entire family. May God give them strength to brave this difficult time.”

Siddique, a three-time MLA from Bandra West who had recently joined Ajit Pawar’s NCP after leaving the Congress earlier this year, was shot on Saturday evening. Mumbai Additional CP Paramjit Singh Dahiya confirmed that two suspects had been arrested. “The incident occurred around 9:30 pm in Nirmal Nagar. Baba Siddique was taken to Lilavati Hospital after being shot. Two suspects have been arrested, and the Mumbai Crime Branch is investigating the case,” Dahiya told reporters. The Mumbai Police recovered a 9.9mm pistol, believed to have been used in the crime.
