In the ongoing celebration of Sewa Pakhwada in support of Ayushman Bhava campaign, from 17 sep 2023 upto 02 Oct 2023, the AYUSH Health and Wellness Center (AHWC) Sector-24 Chandigarh organized AYUSHMAN Health Mela today.

The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Akhil Kumar DANICS, Director AYUSH and graced by the presence of Dr. N.S. Bhardwaj, Joint Director Ayurveda, Dr. Manju Shree, Assistant Director Homoeopathy and Dr. Aarti Verma, Senior Ayurvedic Physician-cum- In-Charge AHWC-24.

The objective of this mela was to optimize the uptake of services, provide a platform to people to express their issues and concerns about the healthcare services and augment behavior change among people through group wellness activities.

Provide early diagnosis through screening, comprehensive primary health care services with drugs and diagnostics, teleconsultation with specialists, and appropriate referrals etc.

Awareness about health & well-being and different health schemes and services. Population-based screening for diseases like hypertension, diabetes and three common cancers i.e. Oral, Breast and cervical. Routine Immunization.

Highlight of this event was to create Awareness among the general public about implementation of AYUSH Public Health Programmes in U.T. Chandigarh in the year 2023-24, i.e. Karunya (AYUSH Palliative Services), Ayurvidya (Promotion of Healthy lifestyle through AYUSH for School Children), Supraja (AYUSH Maternal and Neonatal Intervention), National Program for Prevention and Management of Osteoarthritis & Musculoskeletal disorders.

For which new AYUSH Medical Officers have been recruited under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, National AYUSH Mission and registration of patients under these programmes has been initiated. The AYUSHMAN Health Mela was a resounding success, drawing a substantial number of beneficiaries from the community, in which a range of enlightening activities and events were organized.

Various facets of healthcare were covered through presentations including topics like ‘Mother and Child Care’ by Dr. Aditi and Dr. Preeti, ‘Karunya’ by Dr. Jaspreet, ‘Ayurvidya’ by Dr. Suriti and ‘Osteoarthritis’ by Dr. Shalini and “AYUSH HWCs services” by Dr. Swati. Participants also engaged in holistic health sessions including yoga.

AYUSH Health and Wellness Centre, Sector-24 is dedicated to promoting holistic well-being through traditional and alternative healthcare practices through which It strives to improve the health and quality of life of the community it serves.
