The Yogi Adityanath government is preparing for an unforgettable Diwali in Ayodhya, as the newly completed Ram temple gets ready for its first festival of lights. This eighth Deepotsav will showcase grandeur and environmental care, making it a historic celebration on the banks of the Saryu River.
To mark this inaugural Diwali at the temple, the Uttar Pradesh government aims to set a new world record by lighting between 25 and 28 lakh lamps along the Saryu River. Special eco-friendly lamps, designed to burn longer without leaving soot or stains, will light up the temple, ensuring environmental preservation remains a priority.
The temple complex will be lavishly decorated with flowers, divided into specific sections with assigned responsibilities. Ashu Shukla, a retired Bihar cadre IG, will oversee lighting, decoration of entrance arches, and comprehensive cleaning, ensuring every detail is carefully managed for an impressive display.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, responsible for the temple, has emphasized that Ayodhya will not only symbolize faith but also stand as a beacon of cleanliness and environmental stewardship. The temple will be open for ‘Bhavan Darshan’ until midnight from October 29 to November 1, allowing visitors to witness the stunning decorations up close.
This year’s Deepotsav conveys a message of faith, eco-consciousness, and community pride, transforming Ayodhya’s Diwali into an international event. Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s installation of the Ram Lalla idol on January 22, the temple trust envisions this grand Diwali as the beginning of a legacy that will resonate for generations to come.
