An avalanche warning for the next 24 hours has been issued in J-K’s Kupwara by the Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) on Friday.
Over the next 24 hours, an avalanche with a low danger level is predicted by the authorities to occur above 2800 meters above sea level over the Kupwara district.
“Avalanche with a low danger level is likely to occur above 2,800 metres above sea level over Kupwara district in the next 24 hours,” said JKDMA.
In addition, the authorities urged the locals to exercise caution and wait for further orders before entering any avalanche-prone areas.
“People living in these areas are advised to take precautions and avoid venturing in the avalanche-pron areas till further orders,” the government stated.
