Budget-Friendly AI Laptops On The Way: Snapdragon X Cuts Costs By 2025

The new Windows 11 laptops powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X processors have shown great potential, but they currently come with a hefty price tag. However, there’s good news for budget-conscious buyers: prices are expected to drop significantly by early 2025.

Qualcomm’s chief recently revealed that future AI laptops running on the Snapdragon X processor could soon cost under ₹1 lakh, or even as low as ₹80,000. Although it might be hard to imagine these laptops falling into the budget category given current prices, any reduction will be welcomed by consumers. Currently, many of these laptops are priced around $999 (approximately ₹83,000), with additional costs for buyers in countries like India.

Qualcomm plans to expand the Snapdragon X series with more affordable processors, potentially bringing the price of these laptops down to $700 (around ₹57,000) by early next year. This means Indian buyers could soon see laptops priced around ₹80,000 with the new processors.

Exciting Times Ahead for Budget AI Laptops

While Qualcomm has only given price estimates, the upcoming Snapdragon X processors are expected to offer impressive performance even at lower prices. Qualcomm’s Cristiano Amon has assured that the NPU (Neural Processing Unit) performance of these budget processors will remain strong.

These Snapdragon X-powered laptops have already impressed with their battery life, but more developer support for ARM-based Windows apps is needed to make these laptops appealing across different price ranges.
