The fireworks erupted from several spots, including the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, creating an amazing visual light and color effect over the waters. This year’s event features a tribute to Australia’s Indigenous cultures, featuring performances and ceremonies honoring the first people of this land.
Besides the fireworks, thousands of people had a ball with music and food and street celebrations in Circular Quay and other areas nearby. The significance of the celebration is that Sydney is one of the first significant cities in the world to be hosting 2025, where millions of Aussies and TV viewers worldwide can celebrate the commencement of a brand-new year.
With all these celebrations running well into the night, Sydney saw the early morning hours of the year 2025 greeted with hope and anticipation, thus welcoming a fresh new year with lots of promise and new beginnings.
