The Israel Defense Forces announced on Monday morning that the Israeli Navy had hit several Hamas terror squads that were in close proximity to ground forces in the Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, naval forces attacked a number of buildings that housed Hamas agents. Additionally, the navy attacked locations where Israeli soldiers were being fired upon and mortared by Hamas squads. In the meantime, an airstrike near Khan Yunis resulted in the death of a Hamas commander by the Air Force. The IDF also said that multiple terrorists carrying a rocket were slain in a different airstrike. Soldiers launched an airstrike on a building in northern Gaza that housed Hamas operatives.
At least 1,200 people were killed in Hamas’s attacks on Israeli communities near the Gaza border on Oct. 7. The number of men, women, children, soldiers and foreigners held captive in Gaza by Hamas is now believed to be 129.
Other people remain unaccounted for as Israeli authorities continue to identify bodies and search for human remains.
