Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics recently disclosed a staggering decline in tourism arrivals and Israeli departures for the month of November 2023, reflecting a significant impact of the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
According to the data, the number of tourists arriving in Israel witnessed a staggering plunge, with only 39,000 visitors recorded, marking an over 90% decrease compared to November 2022’s 369,800 arrivals. Remarkably, 42.1% of these tourists hailed from the United States.
Further analysis revealed that out of the total arrivals, only 38,300 were tourists, marking a substantial decrease from 330,700 tourists in the corresponding month of the previous year.
This revelation of a substantial reduction in travel, both into and out of Israel, highlights the repercussions of the ongoing tensions, influencing international visitor numbers and Israeli outbound travel significantly. The sharp decline in both tourism arrivals and Israeli departures signifies the tumultuous effect of the conflict on travel patterns in the region.
