A fatal road accident in the Dang District of mid-western Nepal has resulted in the confirmed death of at least 12 individuals, including two Indian nationals, as confirmed by the police.
The incident occurred overnight at Bhalubang on Friday. The passenger bus, traveling from Banke’s Nepalgunj to Kathmandu, veered off a bridge and plunged into the Rapti River. Chief Inspector of Police at the Area Police Office, Bhalubang, Ujjwal Bahadur Singh, provided details over the phone, stating, “We only have ascertained the identity of eight deceased passengers, which includes two Indians.”
According to the police, an additional 22 passengers sustained injuries in the bus accident. The two Indian victims have been identified as Yogendra Ram (67) from Malahi, Bihar, and Mune (31) from Uttar Pradesh.
Chief Inspector Ujjwal Bahadur Singh mentioned, “The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Lamahi Hospital for postmortem.” Further details on the incident are awaited
