638 homes and businesses have lost power due to the fires. Further, authorities are trying to investigate how the fire began. According to sources, it is assumed that the fire originated after a lightning strike on Friday morning. High winds have been sweeping through, consuming 800 hectares of land so far. It has made it hard for the authorities to control the flames.
Meanwhile, in the central region of the state, a 40,000-hectare fire has prompted a spate of warnings. The situation deteriorated quickly, with authorities issuing an extreme heatwave warning for much of Western Australia’s southern and inland areas.
