In a shocking incident that unfolded in suburban Andheri, a 25-year-old cook named Rajkumar Singh is facing charges of attempted culpable homicide after allegedly administering an electric shock and assaulting his female employer due to her perceived rudeness. The victim, Bethsheba Morris Sheth, a schoolteacher, narrated the harrowing ordeal that took place just two days ago. According to Sheth, the incident occurred when she woke up from a Sunday afternoon siesta to find Singh standing over her, clutching two live wires. Without warning, he applied the live wires to the sides of her head, delivering a painful electric shock. In addition to this, Singh physically assaulted her, as detailed in her complaint.
Sheth’s 11-year-old son, who was in an adjacent room, rushed to her aid upon hearing her screams. However, out of fear for her son’s safety, she instructed him to return to his room and lock himself in, concerned that Singh might harm him as well. Following the shock and assault, Singh offered an apology to Sheth, explaining that his actions were driven by her perceived rudeness towards him. Subsequently, he left her flat. The incident has prompted the police to take action, and they have registered an FIR against Singh under section 308 (attempt to culpable homicide) of the Indian Penal Code. Currently, law enforcement is actively searching for the accused, who has reportedly been absconding since the incident.
