In a significant development, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have released sketches of two terrorists believed to be responsible for the recent attacks in Shahdra Sharif, Rajouri, and Poonch district, where an Indian Air Force (IAF) convoy was targeted on May 4.
The attacks, which occurred on April 22 and May 4 respectively, resulted in casualties, including the tragic death of Corporal Nikky Pahadem and injuries to four others during the assault on the IAF vehicles in the Bakrabal area of Surankote, Poonch.
According to officials, the investigation has led to the detention of approximately 20 individuals for questioning. A large-scale cordon and search operation are underway in various areas including Danna Top, Shahstar, Sheindra, and Sanai Top in Poonch. Senior Army and police officers, including the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 16 Corps and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu, visited the attack sites to assess the security arrangements.
Officials have urged the public to come forward with any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects, promising anonymity and rewards for credible leads. A group of two to three terrorists is believed to have carried out the attack on the IAF convoy near Shaistar Sanai in Surankote.
