Ukraine Open to Territory Swap with Russia: Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signaled willingness to negotiate a territory swap with Russia as part of potential peace talks. Speaking to The Guardian, he mentioned offering Russia land seized in its Kursk region six months ago.

Zelensky is set to meet US Vice President JD Vance at the Munich Security Conference to discuss security guarantees and US support for Ukraine.

Ukraine Seeks Stronger US Security Guarantees

The Ukrainian president dismissed the idea of Europe guaranteeing security without US involvement. “Security guarantees without America are not real security guarantees,” he stated.

With Donald Trump pushing for a peace deal, Ukraine remains cautious, fearing a settlement without firm military commitments could leave it vulnerable to future Russian aggression.

Zelensky’s Offer to US Companies

To gain American backing, Zelensky proposed lucrative reconstruction contracts for US firms, highlighting Ukraine’s vast mineral reserves as a strategic incentive.

Rebuilding Ukraine – Business opportunities for US firms.
Natural Resources – Ukraine has some of Europe’s largest mineral reserves.
Strategic Investments – Aimed at preventing Russian control over key resources.

“Those who help save Ukraine will also be the ones to rebuild it,” Zelensky affirmed.

Russia’s Advances & Ongoing Conflict

Meanwhile, Russia continues to advance in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, capturing several settlements through intense bombardments.

The US is preparing to send special envoy Keith Kellogg to Ukraine, tasked with drafting a ceasefire proposal. However, Kyiv remains wary of Trump’s peace strategy and insists on firm security and military guarantees.
