A heartwarming security camera footage from Istanbul, Turkey has caught the Internet off guard and depicts a touching act of trying to save by a stray dog a sick puppy. The mother dog is shown fighting through the rains in Beylikduzu to the clinic holding the ailing puppy in her mouth. She ended up in Beylikduzu Alfa Veterinary Clinic. It is said she stopped before entering the door in search of some help. Emir, a veterinary technician, noticed her immediately, rushed to her aid, and carefully carried the puppy inside for urgent care.

Veterinarian Baturalp Dogan shared how the team worked tirelessly to save the pup. Initially, Emir thought the puppy might be dead, but Dogan discovered a faint heartbeat. “At first, he couldn’t understand the situation because it was very strange. A dog comes with a puppy in its mouth and drops the puppy on the ground. It cannot be understood whether the puppy is alive or not at first. The animal is already cold as ice,” he recounted. Dogan quickly administered the necessary injections and dried the puppy’s wet fur, stabilizing its dangerously low heart rate.

Emir said, ‘He’s not moving at all, he’s not breathing, he could be dead.’ I said, ‘Wait, let’s look at his heart.’ Of course, because his heart was beating so slowly, it could not be heard with a stethoscope. When I checked it with a needle, we noticed a very slow heartbeat,” added Dogan. I thought for a moment that it was already a hope; maybe he could live, so we started to fight.

With the mother’s determination, her puppy was just in time and managed to be cured. Earlier, the same morning, another two puppies from this litter of six were brought in by local people. The medical team could rescue only two puppies from the entire litter. Dogan confirmed that both surviving puppies are improving but will take some time to fully recover. According to the veterinarians, their health is now improving, thanks to the excellent instincts of the mother dog.
