Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, during a banquet hosted by President Droupadi Murmu, highlighted the deep-rooted historical and cultural ties between India and Indonesia. Speaking about the influence of ancient Indian civilization, Subianto emphasized its impact on Indonesia’s language, culture, and even genetics.
Sharing a personal anecdote, he said,
“A few weeks ago, I had my genetic sequencing test, and they told me I have Indian DNA. Everybody knows when I hear Indian music, I start dancing.”
Praise for PM Modi’s Leadership
President Subianto also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, describing him as an inspiration.
“I came here for a few days but learned a lot from Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and commitments. His efforts to alleviate poverty and help the marginalized are truly commendable,” Subianto stated.
He further expressed his pride in visiting India and extended his wishes to the people, saying,
“I wish the people of India prosperity, peace, and greatness in the coming years. I hope Indonesia and India continue to be close partners and friends.”
