On Tuesday, the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, along with the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration of Nepal, signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to undertake 10 high-impact community development projects (HICDPs) in Nepal. These projects, aimed at improving education, health, and culture, are funded by the Government of India with a total cost of NRs.625 million.

These projects will be implemented through local authorities of the Government of Nepal, including metropolitan cities, sub-metropolitan cities, municipalities, and rural municipalities.

Strengthening India-Nepal Ties

This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen ties between India and Nepal. Since 2003, India has been involved in over 573 high-impact community development projects in Nepal, completing 495 projects. These projects focus on improving infrastructure in education, health, social welfare, roads, bridges, water, electrification, and more across all seven provinces of Nepal.

A Commitment to Long-Term Cooperation

The implementation of these 10 HICDPs reflects India’s continued support to Nepal, contributing to the nation’s development and people’s well-being. By enhancing infrastructure in critical sectors, India aims to bolster Nepal’s efforts to foster growth and improve the living standards of its citizens.

As close neighbors, India and Nepal continue to work together in a spirit of cooperation to create lasting positive impacts on the lives of their people.
