An assistant sub-inspector (ASI), Lakhwinder Singh, has been arrested by the Punjab vigilance bureau on Thursday for taking a Rs 5000 bribe. Singh was posted at Bholath police station in Kapurthala district. At the chief minister’s anti-corruption helpline complaint was filed after which action was taken against the ASI. Meanwhile, the complaint was filed by Avtar Singh of Akala village. However, for filing an FIR ASI demanded a Rs 5000 bribe.
