Amit Shah, the senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister speaks at a rally on Saturday in the Gujarati town of Patan to commemorate the conclusion of the Narendra Modi administration’s nine-year term. Shah will also attend a similar event in Nanded, in the nearby state of Maharashtra, after Gujarat, his home state.

According to the BJP leader, Shah would speak at the rally in Sidhpur, Gujarat, at 11 am. At the event will be BJP MP Satya Pal Singh, Gujarat unit president C R Paatil, state general secretary Rajni Patel, and union minister Bhagwat Karad.

A number of Union ministers have travelled to Gujarat as part of the Gujarat BJP’s celebration of the nine years of the Modi administration by exhibiting its accomplishments.

Another party leader stated that Shah’s rally in Nanded, Maharashtra, is slated to start at about 5.30 p.m.

Shah’s trip to Maharashtra gains significance because it coincides with reports of communal unrest in various regions of the state, including Kolhapur, Ahmednagar, and Beed.

Ashok Chavan, a seasoned Congressman and a former chief minister of Maharashtra, calls Nanded home.

Shah will travel to Nanded from Gujarat to speak at the gathering at the city’s Abchalnagar Ground. He will take a flight from Nanded to Delhi, the BJP leader added.

Notably, K Chandrasekhar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana and president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), had spoken at a public gathering earlier in Nanded. He announced a month-long initiative to extend the BRS network to more than 45,000 villages in Maharashtra on May 19 while attending the city’s BRS cadres training event.

Elections for the Maharashtra Assembly will take place in October/November of 2024, a few months after the Lok Sabha elections in May 2024. 48 Lok Sabha seats are located in the state.
